I suppose that is true. I am sort of a privacy advocate, and I also feel that, despite all the advertising that says otherwise, many average users still feel that there is "nothing wrong" with downloading movies, music, etc.
I think that the battle against piracy is going in the wrong direction. All the companies are going after users, and trying to scare the masses away from downloading illegal content, when really it would be better to stop attacking your customers, and try and find a way to go after the source.
As an example. When my dad first got a computer, he thought that using limewire to download MP3's was okay. He thought that by paying his internet bill every month he was paying for the content he downloaded.
But I am going to stop now before this turns into the ten page rant that I could probably make it. I guess I don't use AT&T for internet, so it doesn't directly effect me...yet
</rant>
As a side note, last week I had to reformat and reinstall on my laptop, and I am proud to say that for the first time since the early 90's, I am running absolutly nothing pirated. Everything I have installed I either bought, of found open source. I just hope that I can keep up with this trend lol.
