Default New Moto Q 9c / Mac User

Hey Guys!

So, I've been lurking for the last few days, and reading up on the Q 9c and Mac syncing/tethering and trying to get a good idea of the innerworkings of the different programs needed for both syncing and tethering.

I do realize that there are many forum threads dealing with these issues, but sometimes I feel that I might be missing something, or it's shooting just over my head. When I receive my new Sprint Q 9c in the next few days, I want to be able to start using an iCal sync and be able to tether on the go.

My Computer:
MBP Intel Core Duo
Leopard OS
NOT running Bootcamp or any other Windows emulation software (Nor do I want to.)

My Phone:
Sprint Service
Moto Q 9c
No Tethering plan (Yet...)

My questions are:

Syncing:
1. I've read alot on the "Alpha" of Missingsync. Is this the correct program and build for syncing, or is there a new build out that would be better to use? Most things I've read point out the lack of Leopard support.

Tethering:
1. What is the best program to use, regardless of price, between PDAnet and the other one (Forgot the name :x) for my system and my Q in terms of ease of use and options?
2. Where is the best place to look for a complete walkthrough on this set up. I've seen some, but most involve a registry edit, which I am quite wary of. Is this totally needed?
3. USB or Bluetooth tethering? Which works? (I'd perfer USB due to the lack of battery use.)
4. Data plans? Should I really invest in the tethering plan through Sprint, or for basic web browsing on my MBP would it not be needed?

Thanks guys for the help, I really hope one of you "Q Allstars" can walk me through this new purchase and what it entails!
