I have the smartphone home screen MSDN guide in front of me, and the steps look followable for a noob like me... only problem is it says under required resources the microsoft smartphone SDK, and embedded visual C++...

do these cost money? i dont wanna spend money to customize my motoq, i would like to do this without cost... so are they free?
