The only thing I found to work (for the time being) was to set the Clock on Automatic, but leave the Time Zone Update on manual. (Access these settings at Settings->More->More->Phone Settings->Clock & Time Zone

I have no idea what will happen with these settings when we go back on DST next spring. If the clock is automatically sensing the right time via some signal over the air - then what's the Time Zone Update business about at all?? Perhaps, I'll need to put the clock back to manual and have the battery problem for half the year?

Anyway, at least for the time being, if I do need to remove my battery, the clock/calendar will re-establish itself.

As to why this is happening...I'm wondering, since U.S. Cellular did not begin selling the Q until very recently, that perhaps the USC Moto Q software was already updated with the new DST info, so that when I installed the "required updates", I actually "doubled up" somehow. Perhaps that doesn't make sense...

Let me know if you find any more definitive answers...
