Umm, this kind of irks me. Seriously, how many new models do they plan on releasing? I want the latest and greatest, but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay full retail for another new phone because they keep releasing "improved" versions every 6 months.
I don't think we'll see this phone before the end of the year if we're lucky. Plus, it'll probably come out on a GSM network first (T-Mobile, Cingular) and Verizon won't get this until late next year. This is all pure speculation and based upon how it's been happening with the Treo product life cycle. If you think you're upset, how about those who bought the 700w only to have Sprint release the 700wx months later with added memory. Verizon is expected to have that phone in December -- making it one year. By the time they get that, Cingular will have the 750 (improved form factor, threaded SMS, internal antenna) making the 700w/wx people upset. It's a vicious cycle.

You cannot blame Motorola. They need to keep up with the Dash, Treo 680, Samsung, Nokia's who keep producing better products.

I try and avoid the 2 year commitment for this very reason.

Also, let's see what this phone has to offer. The upgrades might be incremental and not major. Or, it may be an entirely different line of phone that doesn't make the Q obsolete. Q could end up being the entry-level phone and the Pro being the more expensive version.

FWIW, it does look pretty nice. It's interesting what they've done with the buttons and keyboards.
