If you did a "Wireless Sync" before the problem with the master reset happens, you are safe!!! because you can do the wireless sync again and you will get all your contancts back, with no problems.

And for next put a Backup software in the Moto Q, I will give you a link to a software "SunnySoft Manager BackUp v 1.10" It's free!!! I try it and it works great in my phone.
