Of course, these are very subjective questions, but I'll respond anyway.
I prefer not using a stylus, so I'm partial to the Smartphone OS. Is entering stuff easy? Yes, but not as easy as on a full size PC keyboard. ;)
Both devices do have small buttons. However, I think the Q is easier to dial with because the i730 is very awkward to use one-handed with the keybard out--its get top heavy and sometimes difficult to hold with one hand. The screen touch pad is ok for dialing, but you might have to stretch your thumb out depending on how big or small your hands are.
Since the Q has a full keyboard, it's not much different than typing on the i730's keyboard.
The i730 is clerly a more powerful device, but if you can do without the WiFi and the ability to edit MS Office documents, the Q should be fine. It's hard to beat the size and weight of the Q.
Overall, the Q is almost as good as the i730 for PIM use. However, the Q is much better than the i730 as a phone. Thi is generally the case when comapting a Smartphone with a PPC Phone.
