I did request it the first time that I called, and they did do it, even though they said it wouldn't help. I called *2 and waited for the update. Still didn't fix my problem.
The reason I waited so long to do the MOL updates was because I was afraid it was going to mess up my phone. I finally got tired of seeing letters instead of numbers when I was entering a phone number to text, and knowing that the update would fix this, I decided to be brave and try it. I was so excited that after the update my phone was exactly as it was before the update. Then I noticed that the 1x was always there, and I've never seen the EV again.
