correction, you have to call in FIRST to customer service and ask them to flag your phone for a PRL update. Once they do that, THEN you call *2 and it will tell you there's an update waiting and it will do it automatically....just calling *2 will not trigger a PRL update, you have to request it. Dunno if it will solve this problem or not, but it can't hurt. Call back and request it, and if they give you the "it wont help" crap, tell them you want it anyway...
