That is how I do too! I take it one step furthur and use PushEffect to take those text alerts and download the actual emails. Works great when Hotmail/MSN/Windows Live Mobile actually does send that alert!! I'm dropping Geeksters 95% to 80%! This past weekend their site was down so no alerts...
